THE SALON

What are you looking for?

THICK COARSE HAIR

Managing thick, coarse hair can be approached in several ways:

Create A More Manageable Shape
We can find a cut that gives your hair a shape that works for your texture.

  • We can texturize to reduce bulk and make your hair move.
  • We can dry cut to give a more attractive shape to your natural curls. Cutting dry actually allows me to see and work with each curl as it relates to the overall shape of your style.
  • We can use layering techniques to reduce the volume of your hair.
  • We can use graduating or stacking techniques that take advantage of the curl, wave or thickness of the hair.

Color Can Calm and Add Dimension
Use highlighting and lowlighting techniques to add depth and dimension.

  • Curly hair may require a different size of highlight so as to be seen. Sometimes, fine weaved highlights are almost lost in curly hair.
  • Highlighting can be bold or subtle, depending upon your preferences.
  • Lowlighting is often used to add dimension to dry and dull looking hair.
  • We can use single process and semi-permanent coloring techniques to add manageability and shine.

Remember, healthy looking, shiny hair is the goal!
