The messenger matters, but less than the message. Full stop. That is the big takeaway.
Thanks to Jonathan Jackson for the photos from the event.

Tip 1 – Be prepared for almost anything
– Bring file backups, just in case
– Have connection options if you are sharing slides
– If you have or can afford two laptops, make sure you have both
– Mic, amplifier, speaker, and other audio support
– Hard copy notes, scripts, slides, etc.

Tip 2 – Reherse
– Read the presentation several times
– Practice the timing between slide transitions
– Memorize the pauses
– Breath

Tip 3 – Remember who you are
– Be responsible to your audience, not for your audience
– Seek to create value for them
– Enhance value they already know
– Your message and perspective are unique
– Share your experience freely

Tip 4 – Do hard, scary things
– Push through your fear
– We all start from inexperience
– The first time is the worst time
– Preparation eases fear
– FEAR = False Evidence Apearing Real
My final takeaway is this.
If you upset people with your content.
Good.
If you delight people with your message.
Be wary.
When people fall asleep, that is on them.
Own your platform, your message, and your point.
